Marina Yamamoto

Marina (Terwilliger) Yamamoto, who enjoys dancing ballet, wrote several of the original Ballerina Birdies stanzas while working as a nanny to amuse children before naptime. Her experience as a children's ballet teacher at West Hawaii Dance Academy and her cherished lovebird, Auli'i, provided inspiration for the story.
