In school, she spent as much time doodling on the margins of school notebooks and book covers as doing projects in art classes. She attributes much of her style to this kind of daydreaming with pen. Her preferred medium is colored pencil, and preferred subject matter is whatever will make people smile.
Helen M. Waters is a primarily self-taught artist and illustrator, currently living in Newton, Massachusetts, U.S.A. She started reading and drawing at an early age, and has nurtured a love of storytelling since. A Story About Sprout is the first book she has both written and illustrated.
