Leo Learns to Swim

Leo is a sea turtle and sea turtles are supposed to swim. He’s sure he could if one of his flippers wasn’t shorter than the others. He’ll try anything to learn, but when none of his crazy fixes get him swimming he starts to lose hope. Then a giant ghost crab threatens his cousin Elliott and Leo discovers that caring about others is the only fix he needs. Leo Learns to Swim helps children who are "different" learn to focus on what they do well - their strengths - rather than focusing on the one weakness or one thing that sets them apart. It's a book of encouragement for all children to never give up. Everyone can do remarkable things.

Overview

Leo is a sea turtle with one fin shorter than the others. This makes it difficult for him to swim. He tries all kinds of fixes but nothing works. When he learns to concentrate on his three good flippers instead of his one bad one - he can swim.
