A professional writer and editor for many years, Alida Durham Clemans decided in 2018 to follow her heart and pursue a career as a children’s author. She is currently pursuing an MFA degree in creative writing at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, and earned her undergraduate degree in English and journalism from the State University of New York at Albany. The mother of two, Alida grew up in Westfield, New Jersey, and lives in downtown Manhattan with her husband and a scruffy rescue dog. When she’s not writing kid lit, she works as a writer for an independent school. Until the Ocean Freezes is her first book.
